Peace to the Winter!
The weather is warming up every day here in Houston. We are finally saying peace to the winter and hello to the spring season. With winter on its' way out, there are only a few more opportunities to wear my heavy knits and favorite booties from this season. I had a casual lunch meeting this week so I wore a grunge-inspired plaid knit dress from Storets and Steve Madden's Comet booties that are very similar to these Chloe and Givenchy multi-buckle boots without the heavy price tag. These boots are bad-ass and definitely made their presence known when I stepped in the restaurant.
Y'all know that I love dresses because they are easy to wear, but it was something about this plaid dress that I couldn't get over. It isn't a piece that I would normally gravitate to but It had this kind of hard, edgy look that I thought might be a cool switch-up to my personal style. The hemline is asymmetrical and has a piece that wraps around the waist as if you took a shirt or jacket and wrapped it around your waist that is very reminiscent of early 90's fashion (I hate the name but for the purpose of fashion references, think the heroin-chic era in fashion; early Kate Moss, Nirvana era).
